Redevelopment Excellence Award: Piccadilly Square

Piccadilly Square was awarded the Redevelopment Excellence Award from the National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies.

"Piccadilly Square Redevelopment is the reuse of a vacant supper club and former streetcar powerhouse into a 79-unit apartment building affordable to low income seniors. Piccadilly Square is located in Mahtomedi, Minnesota, a suburb of St. Paul.

Feng Hsiao came to Minnesota to pursue a Ph.D. Instead, using the Americanized name of Fred Shaw, he built one of the largest Asian-American-owned construction companies in the United States. It’s a legacy his sons, who use their father’s original surname, are continuing to build on.
