Shaw-Lundquist begins clean-up work as General Contractor
The joint venture including Hempel and the Saint Paul Port Authority announce that abatement and interior demolition work has begun on the exciting new downtown Saint Paul Redevelopment of the former Macy’s store after selecting Shaw-Lundquist as the general contractor for the project.
The abatement is required of the building to remove asbestos and prepare the site for extensive renovations.
"Shaw-Lundquist was clearly the right contractor for the exciting new project based on their experience with this property and in St. Paul said Randy McKay,” Project Developer.
Hempel and the Saint Paul Port Authority in partnership will redevelop over 540,000 square feet of space on the 2.25 acre site adjacent to the Green Line light rail route.
“As we continue to build momentum, clean up the site, and prepare it to be a vibrant center-city attraction, finding local partners to add to our team like Hempel and the Shaw-Lundquist will create the world-class destination we’ve been committed to,” Lee Krueger, President of the St. Paul Port Authority said.
Key Saint Paul- area projects for Shaw-Lundquist include the West Side Flats, the MDA/MDH Lab and a major lobby renovation project of the corporate headquarters for 3M.
