MSU Trafton Science Center

MSU Trafton Science Center Renovation & Addition - Mankato, MN

The addition brings chemistry labs and classrooms to the Trafton Science Center, and expresses the University’s commitment to educational excellence in the field of high technology. Featured are a telecommunications lab with a roof top antenna array, a wind tunnel lab, a vibration testing lab, mechanical engineering labs and a clean room. Other spaces include two large lecture halls and faculty offices.

Ford Hall makes Trafton Science Center one of the state's "greenest." The University’s facilities management team estimates a 4-6 year payback on the additional $1 million spent to upgrade the buildings electrical/mechanical systems. Annual savings are estimated at over $180,000. Construction recycling was part of the plan, with 76% of all the waste material produced by the project being recycled.
