City: Minneapolis
State: MN
Architect: Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle Architects
Owner: Minneapolis Library System
Completion: 1997
Value: $1M - $5M
Description:

In July of 1996 Shaw-Lundquist took part in the transformation of the
Hosmer Community Library. Originally built in 1916, the landmark building underwent a major renovation and expansion project. Completed in October of 1997, the project included a 5,100 square foot addition, a new technology center, a new community center and various restorative
projects throughout the historic library. Careful planning and close
collaboration with architects Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. helped
the library retain its original character and charm. The library is
owned by the Minneapolis Public Library and is now a state-of-the-art
building, meeting the neighborhood's needs for library services and
information resources.
