Project: Ridgedale Library
City: Minnetonka
State: MN
Architect: Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle Architects
Owner: Minneapolis Library System
Completion: 1999
Value: $10M - $20M
Description:

Originally constructed in 1980 to provide a variety of essential government services to the rapidly expanding western suburbs of Minneapolis, Ridgedale Regional Center brought a public library, library administration offices, district courts, a licensing center, and social services offices all under one roof.
The expansion project adds some 61,450 square feet to the public library and library administration services area, along with remodeling an additional 103,000 square feet. A new 225-car parking ramp brings the total on-site parking capacity to 500 cars. A new gracefully and memorably curved clerestory revitalizes the architectural plan with a new identity.
