State: MN
Architect: Xerxes Architects
Owner: U-Garden Restaurant
Completion: 2006
Value: $500k - $1M
Description:
The U-Garden Restaurant went through their third renovation in seven years of business, which added 3500 square feet to their existing 4500 square feet. Most of the addition will be used for additional seating to accommodate the restaurants growing popularity.
The expansion included new walls to the South and East sides of the
restaurant, which are the main focal points upon arrival. The materials used are a combination of brick, stucco, EIFS, concrete roof tiles, integral colored concrete, granite tile, ceramic tile, stone sills, and a new storefront.
The architectural design elements that were added included archways above the main windows, an archway on the South elevation, a large archway over the main entrance, cornice along the roof edges, and peaked roof lines that are curved to follow Chinese architecture.
The exterior included new pavement, landscaping, a sidewalk, and a
colored concrete sidewalk at the main entrance.
