Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity
Our Commitment To Diversity and Inclusivity
Shaw-Lundquist is a second generation, family-owned Minority-owned Business Enterprise (MBE). From the very beginning in 1974, our company demonstrated its appreciation for the contributions of minorities and women in construction. In that sense, we were ahead of our time and our culture grew out of an authentic commitment to diversity and inclusion. Our founder, Fred Shaw, saw construction as his opportunity for success in America and we continue to offer a similar path to success for many.
Building Capacity in Our Communities
Shaw-Lundquist is a founding member of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Association of Minority Contractors. We continue to provide leadership in many other organizations that actively seek to develop construction expertise – both companies and individuals – that will result in a dramatic expansion of diverse participation in the construction industry. This is not a requirement for Shaw-Lundquist, but rather a passionate aspect of our mission.
"One of the things that we try to do better than some of our competitors is to pay it forward. We include more diverse subcontractors and suppliers on the opportunities that we have because our success in construction and in our community is linked to the success of a broad diversity of trade partners.”
