In 2005, Shaw-Lundquist Construction completed one of its most notable Twin Cities projects: a 178,000 sf laboratory building serving both the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Health, situated on the Minnesota State Capitol campus. It was designed to foster collaboration among researchers committed to 21st Century public health and food safety. The building is organized around a 3-level lab core with skyway and plaza connections to the Orville Freeman office building. It was a successful pilot project of the Minnesota Sustainable Building Guidelines (MSBG).
