Project Description
An expansion and addition to the Hiawatha Light Rail operations and maintenance facility, which supports the Central Corridor LRT line. The project added 43,000 sf to the vehicle storage building, 16,000 sf to the maintenance area, a smaller addition to the rail control center, and a new light rail vehicle lift, hoists, cranes, and a geothermal heating and cooling system. Modifications were made to the yard track, traction power, overhead catenary, and communication and signal systems.
